ABOUT ME
Creative Work
I started writing at a young age. My early life was spent in India, where it was part of the family tradition to sit together in the evenings and to tell stories and to sing songs. So, it was inevitable that I developed some ambition to be a poet and storyteller.
I was subsequently brought up in the UK, and after being involved with various school publications, I eventually managed to get my first ‘grown up’ short stories published in the Anglo-Welsh magazine Momentum. This was followed up by further work in Cambrensis magazine, for which I was a regular contributor.
As a student I attended classes in Creative Writing at Bristol Poytechnic / UWE, and post-University, I continued working on a number of projects, including the writing and recording of a number of scripts for a breakfast show on Valleys Radio. Further work includes factual and satirical articles for UK and USA-based publications such as ITWales.com, the Journal of Irreproducible Results, and Null Hypothesis. I have also had stories and poems published in the Welsh poetry magazine Outlaw and Manchester-based magazine Writer’s Muse.
During my writing career, I have attended a number of Creative Writing groups - for example, the Spotlight on Writing group, and the Manky Poets. In addition, I have hosted a number of Creative Writing classes at a Technical College.
