Creative Work
I started writing at a young age. My early life was spent in India, where it was part of the family tradition to sit together in the evenings and to tell stories and to sing songs. So, it was inevitable that I developed some ambition to be a poet and storyteller.
I was subsequently brought up in South Wales, and after being involved with various school publications, I eventually managed to get my first ‘grown up’ short stories published in the Anglo-Welsh magazine Momentum. This was followed up by further work in Cambrensis magazine, for which I was a regular contributor.
As a student I attended classes in Creative Writing at UWE (Bristol) and post-University, I continued working on a number of projects, including the writing and recording of a number of scripts for a breakfast show on Valleys Radio. Further work included factual and satirical articles for UK and USA-based publications such as ITWales.com, the Journal of Irreproducible Results, and Null Hypothesis. I have also had stories and poems published in the Welsh Outlaw poetry magazine and Manchester-based Writer’s Muse magazine.
During my writing career, I have attended a number of Creative Writing groups - for example, the Spotlight on Writing group (Altrincham), the Manky Poets (Manchester) and the Caerphilly Writing Circle. In addition, I have hosted a number of Creative Writing classes (Pontypridd College, South Wales.)

Academic Work
After school, I completed a BSc (Hons) degree course in Applied Biological Sciences at UWE, Bristol, and subsequently worked as a Biomedical Scientist. During this time I also completed an MSc degree in Clinical Chemistry at UWE (Bristol).
In order to develop and follow my interests in Technical Authorship, I then followed an MSc degree course in Computer Studies at the University of Glamorgan [now the University of South Wales]. I subsequently gained experience as a Technical Author in the IT industry, creating end-user documentation for Laboratory Information Management Systems.
Currently, I work as Technical Author, specialising in Health & Social Care systems software. Having completed a BA (Hons) degree in English and Creative Writing through the Open University, I continue to develop and explore my interests in the effective use of the English language.
